PTEC 1209 - Advanced Injection Molding Academic Division: Business, Industry and Technology Assistant Dean: Dr. Vincent Palombo 2 Credit(s) This intermediate level course uses polymer physics and data analysis concepts to develop key practices for scientific molding. The course covers the responsibilities of molders, fundamental plastics concepts, and fundamental physics and rheology of polymer melts to build the groundwork that underlies scientific molding. The course then develops the Kulkarni process for scientific molding and briefly introduces practices of IQ/OQ/PQ for molding professionals. The course incorporates technical articles chosen from approximately 20 years historical development in plastics industry trade sources as well as a textbook for students. 2 Lab Hour(s) 1 Lecture Hour(s); Required as Prerequisite or Concurrent Course(s): Can be concurrent with PTEC 1207, PTEC 1208
