In this course students will learn techniques and procedures for providing basic respiratory care: assessment, communication, body mechanics, medical gas supply systems, oxygen therapy, special gas therapy, humidity and aerosol therapy, oxygen analysis, pulse oximetry, blenders, lung expansion therapy, bronchopulmonary hygiene (including coughing techniques), sterilization/infection control procedures, manual resuscitators, use of chest tubes, and basic pulmonary function testing. For pulse oximetry, oxygen therapy, blenders, special gas therapies, humidity and aerosol therapy, oxygen analysis, bronchopulmonary hygiene, lung expansion therapy, manual resuscitation, and chest tubes: Set up correctly, utilize, and troubleshoot the associated equipment (as available) Explain how the equipment and procedure works Perform the procedure (as available) Recognize and explain the therapeutic objectives, indications, contraindications, and hazards Evaluate a patient scenario (to include patient assessment), select an appropriate therapy, and explain the rationale for the selection	Lab exercise/observation followed by skill competency, Weeks 5-14, Exams 1 week #4, Exam,2 week 7, and Exam 3 week 11
5. Compare and contrast various methods of infection control and sterilization.	Online module weeks 2-4
