RNUR 1050 - Intermediate Concepts in Nursing I 7 Credit(s) This course focuses on the response of clients to respiratory, urinary, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, endocrine (diabetes, thyroid, and parathyroid), fluid balance, and vascular stressors. Extensive emphasis is placed on meeting basic human needs, restoration of wellness, health maintenance, and promotion. Critical thinking, therapeutic communication, client teaching, developmental level tasks, cultural influences, and ethical/legal issues of nursing practice are also integrated throughout the course. Acute care units in the hospital setting are utilized for clinical rotation to integrate intermediate medical-surgical theory with practice. Semesters available: Day - Sp UG
