This course covers plant single-phase and three-phase power distribution networks from the service substation, through the branch circuits to the loads. Topics include fault interruption, overcurrent devices, overvoltage protection, conduit types, conduit bending and pipefitting. UG

1. Select the proper size and type of conduit based on percentage fill, National Electric Code tables and application.

2. Select the proper size on electrical box given number of conductors of the same size or number of conductors of different sizes or types.

3. Demonstrate 3 methods of pulling conductors. Lab exercises during week 4.

4. Design and install a wiring system given specifications.

5. Describe the function of bus bars, bus plugs, disconnects and overcurrent protection devices.

7. Describe the similarities and differences of different conduit types.

8. Demonstrate how to cut, thread, bend , thread and install different types of conduit.
